Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how YourMaster's collects, uses, and protects information when you use the service.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Profile information — name, field of study, interests, academic strengths, and learning style. Either entered manually or extracted from uploaded documents.
- Uploaded documents — CV and transcript PDFs, if you choose to upload them. These are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after your session ends.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To build your academic profile and generate programme matches
- To generate and deliver your Excel report
- To confirm and verify your payment via Stripe
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling beyond the service, or any automated decision-making that affects your rights.
3. Document Processing
When you upload a CV or transcript, the text is extracted and sent to Google's Gemini API to build your academic profile. Google processes this data according to their API data usage policies. Uploaded files are deleted from our server immediately after processing. We do not store the raw text of your documents.
4. Data Retention
Profile data used to generate your report exists only in memory during your session. It is not persisted to a database. Once your session expires (24 hours), it is gone. We do not maintain user accounts or long-term profile storage.
5. Third-Party Services
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe may set cookies for fraud prevention. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Google Gemini API — AI profile extraction (Starter and Pro tiers only). See Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Cookies
YourMaster's itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Stripe may set cookies as part of the payment flow. Your theme preference and cookie consent choice are stored in your browser's localStorage, which stays on your device and is not sent to our servers.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Because we do not store data beyond your session, there is typically nothing to delete. For any request, contact us at hello@yourmasters.eu.
8. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Uploaded documents are handled in temporary memory only and are not written to persistent storage.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
